Rainer Hascher

Rainer Hascher (born January 12, 1950 in Stuttgart ) is a German architect and university professor .

Life

After studying architecture from 1970–1975 at the University of Stuttgart , Hascher was initially assistant to Peter C. von Seidlein from 1977 to 1979 at the Institute for Building Construction and Design there. He then opened his own office in Stuttgart. Together with Sebastian Jehle, he founded Hascher Jehle Architektur in 1993 . In 1988 he was appointed professor at the Technical University of Aachen (RWTH). In 1989 he took over as a professor in the field of building construction and design at the TU Berlin . In 1994 he took over the field of "Climate-friendly building and constructive design" at the TU Berlin. In 2000 he was appointed to both the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences (BBAW) and the German Academy for Technical Sciences (acatech) .

With his architecture office in Berlin, he won over 50 first prizes in architecture competitions and carried out administrative tasks, schools, exhibition halls, university clinics, research buildings and museums. In 2003 he received the European "architecture & technology award" for the headquarters of Finanz lT in Hanover and in 2017 the Austrian State Prize for Architecture and Sustainability for the Montforthaus, a town hall with a concert hall in Feldkirch.
