Rainer Klinke

Rainer Klinke (born March 8, 1936 in Landsberg , Upper Silesia, † September 8, 2008 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German physician and neurophysiologist .

Klinke was full professor at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main from 1977 until his retirement . From 1985 to 1995 he was executive director of the Center of Physiology. Among other things, he was the spokesman for the Collaborative Research Center 269 ​​“Molecular and cellular foundations of neuronal organizational processes”.

Together with Stefan Silbernagl , he was the author of the standard work "Textbook of Physiology". In 2004, the year of his retirement , he received the Purkyne Medal of the Czech Academy of Science.
