Rainer Klinke
Rainer Klinke (born March 8, 1936 in Landsberg , Upper Silesia, † September 8, 2008 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German physician and neurophysiologist .
Klinke was full professor at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main from 1977 until his retirement . From 1985 to 1995 he was executive director of the Center of Physiology. Among other things, he was the spokesman for the Collaborative Research Center 269 “Molecular and cellular foundations of neuronal organizational processes”.
Together with Stefan Silbernagl , he was the author of the standard work "Textbook of Physiology". In 2004, the year of his retirement , he received the Purkyne Medal of the Czech Academy of Science.
