Rainer Matthes

Rainer Matthes (* 1941 in Zeitz ) is a German farmer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending secondary school in Zeitz, Matthes began studying agriculture at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg , which he completed with an examination as a qualified farmer. In 1975/76 he did basic military service with the NVA . He then worked as an operations assistant, business economist and main economist at LPG for plant production in Mittenwalde . In addition, he acted as the deputy chairman of the board of the Märkische Agrargenossenschaft Mittenwalde.

Rainer Matthes is married and has no children.

Matthes joined the Eastern CDU in 1966 and became a member of the All-German Christian Democrats in 1990. From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament . From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the Committee on Budget and Finance and from 1992 to 1994 Chairman of the Committee on Budgetary Control. In parliament he represented the constituency of Königs Wusterhausen I.
