Rainer Neske

Rainer Neske (born October 7, 1964 in Münster ) has been CEO of Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) and the Baden-Württembergische Bank (BW-Bank), which belongs to LBBW , since November 1, 2016 . Until June 30, 2015 he was a member of the Management Board and the Group Executive Committee of Deutsche Bank AG.

Neske studied computer science and business administration at the University of Karlsruhe , today's Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) , and graduated in 1990 with a degree in computer science .

Professional

In 1990 Neske joined Deutsche Bank and initially took on various management positions, primarily in the area of information technology .

In 1999, Neske became the general representative of the subsidiary Deutsche Bank 24 AG, which has been operating as Deutsche Bank Privat- und Business Customers AG since 2002. In 2000, he was appointed to the company's board of directors. In 2001 he took over the position of deputy board spokesman. In March 2003 he was appointed spokesman for the board. At the same time he was admitted to the Group Executive Committee (GEC) of Deutsche Bank AG. In the course of expanding the top management of the bank on April 1, 2009, Neske was appointed to the management board.

As Head of Private & Business Clients, Neske was responsible for Deutsche Bank's global business with private and corporate customers.

After a dispute over the sale of Postbank, among other things, Rainer Neske left Deutsche Bank by resolution of the Supervisory Board on May 20, 2015 by resigning his mandate by means of a termination agreement.

In July 2016, Neske became a member of the Board of Management of Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW). On November 1st he took over the chairmanship of the board. His predecessor, Hans-Jörg Vetter , went into retirement. With total assets of 244 billion euros (2016) and 10,800 employees, LBBW is the largest German Landesbank. Neske is a board member of the Federal Association of Public Banks (VÖB) and chairman of the board of trustees of the Association of Baden-Württembergische Wertpapierbörse eV He is a member of the advisory board of Deutsche Vermögensberatung AG. He is also a member of the Presidium of the Economic Council of the CDU and the Board of Trustees of the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management Foundation, partner of the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management GmbH. In addition, he is a member of the supervisory board of Save the Children Deutschland eV, the board of the non-profit Hertie Foundation and chairman of the board of trustees of the Society of Friends of the Alte Oper Frankfurt .
