Rainer Scheithauer

Rainer Scheithauer (born August 29, 1953 in Apen ; † December 18, 2005 in Königsfeld in the Black Forest ) was a German control engineer and professor of communications engineering . Scheithauer was rector of the Furtwangen University (HFU) from 1999 and was significantly involved in the expansion of the Furtwangen University.

Life

Scheithauer studied at the Technical University of Hanover and was established in 1985 with the work optimal robust control of a class state limited verteiltparametrischer systems doctorate . Scheithauer initially held a leading position in product development at G. Kromschröder AG in Osnabrück, which at the time was majority owned by Ruhrgas AG. Scheithauer became a professor at the University of Applied Sciences in 1993 and taught control and systems theory. In 1999 Scheithauer became rector of the Furtwangen University of Applied Sciences and successor to Walter Zahradnik. He was particularly committed to the conversion and expansion of the Furtwangen University of Applied Sciences (FHF) - with a branch in Schwenningen - to become Furtwangen University (HFU).

In 2004, as rector of Furtwangen University, he founded the "European Net-Trainers Association", to which, in addition to the tele-academy of Furtwangen University, the college association South-Yorkshire SYFEC and the training provider ID3 from Toulouse belong and which offer postgraduate training programs. Scheithauer was also a member of the advisory board of the “ Virtual University of Bavaria ” initiative .

Scheithauer was shot dead by a pharmacist from Villingen in his apartment in Königsfeld -Buchenberg, leaving behind a wife and three children. The police assumed an escalating conflict in a "network of relationships".
