Rainer Spaeth

Rainer Spaeth (born July 8, 1963 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German politician . Between 2005 and September 2011 he was State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry of Finance.

Life

Spaeth attended the German School Abroad in Lima , Peru, from 1973 to 1978 , then a grammar school in Darmstadt , where he passed the Abitur examination in 1983. In the same year he began studying law at the University of Passau , which he completed in 1989 with the first state examination in law. In 1991 Spaeth worked for Siemens in Madrid , and in 1992 he passed the second state examination in law. In 1999 the doctorate to Dr. jur.

In 1992 Spaeth was instructed in the higher tax administration service at the tax office in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse in Rhineland-Palatinate . From 1993 to 1995 he worked as a lecturer at the Thuringian Administration College, then he moved to the Erfurt tax office as head of tax investigations . Since 1996 Spaeth has worked in various positions in the Thuringian Ministry of Finance, including as head of the ministerial office and most recently as head of the steering committee for administrative reform, IT and e-government.

Spaeth is married and has two children.

State Secretary

Since 2005 Spaeth was Thuringian State Secretary for Finance. On September 14, 2011, he was given temporary retirement.
