Raivo Aeg
Raivo Aeg (born July 4, 1962 in Kuressaare ) is an Estonian politician . He has been Estonian Minister of Justice since April 29, 2019.
Life
After completing his studies in 1985, Raivo Aeg started working for the Estonian Police ( Politseiameti ) in 1991 . There he rose steadily over the next few years and was head of the authorities from 2005 to 2008. From 2008 to 2013 he was then chief of the security police ( Kaitsepolitseiamet ), an Estonian intelligence service .
politics
Aeg joined today's Isamaa (then still Isamaa ja Res Publica Liit ) in 2014. For this he was a member of the Estonian Parliament ( Riigikogu ) from 2015 to 2019 . After the parliamentary elections in 2019 , he was appointed Minister of Justice in the new government of Jüri Ratas .
Private
Raivo Aeg is married and has one son. In addition to Estonian, he also speaks English, Finnish and Russian.
