Rajmund Zieliński

Rajmund Zieliński (born November 9, 1940 in Thorn ) is a former Polish cyclist. He is a trained locksmith and was a member of the LZS Nowogard Club.

Athletic career

He is considered one of the most versatile Polish drivers of the 1960s, was u. a. Also multiple Polish champion in single pursuit and has received several awards for sporting achievements. He took part in the International Peace Tour five times , his best placing in 1965 was 9th place. In 1964 he won the domestic Tour of Poland ahead of Władysław Kozłowski and also won four stages. He was a participant in the Summer Olympics in Tokyo and finished 82nd in the Olympic road race .

Zieliński was also a successful train driver. He became Polish champion in the single pursuit in 1963 and from 1965 to 1969 and in the team pursuit in 1967 and 1969.
