The Rakuda Rock ( Japanese ら く だ 岩 Rakuda-iwa , German for ' camel rock ' ) is a 104 m high ledge on the Crown Prince Olav Coast in Queen Maud Land in East Antarctica . It rises on the western flank of the mouth of the Rakuda Glacier .
It was mapped, photographed and named by participants in the Japanese Antarctic expedition, which lasted from 1957 to 1962. The US Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated the Japanese name into English in 1964.
