Ralf Bethke

Ralf Bethke (born September 15, 1942 in Königsberg ) is a German manager . From 1991 to 2007 he was CEO and from 2008 to 2017 Chairman of the Supervisory Board of K + S AG.

Life

Ralf Bethke studied business administration and economics in Bonn , Cologne and Mannheim from 1963 to 1968 . He received his doctorate in Mannheim in 1971. He then joined BASF AG, where he worked for marketing and sales in the fertilizer division. In 1978 the supervisory board of Chemag AG appointed him to the management board with the areas of sales chemicals, finance, human resources and administration. In 1984 he returned to BASF as a department head and took over the management of the Intermediate Products Marketing department. In May 1990 he became a board member of Kali und Salz AG, today's K + S AG, on July 1, 1991 he was appointed chairman of the board. On July 1, 2007, he handed over the chairmanship to Norbert Steiner . On July 1, 2007, he was elected to the Supervisory Board of K + S AG and from May 2008 to May 2017 he was the company's Supervisory Board Chairman.

He is also chairman of the supervisory board of DJE Kapital AG. He was also a member of the supervisory board of Südzucker AG .

Ralf Bethke is married and has two children. Today he lives in Deidesheim (Palatinate).
