Ralf founder (born October 15, 1955 in Bederkesa ) is a German development worker , photographer , multimedia producer, cameraman , filmmaker and book author .

Life

After completing an apprenticeship as a radio and television technician, founder graduated from the technical college for electrical engineering. He then studied from 1979 to 1982 in the printing department at the Berlin University of the Arts in West Berlin and then eight semesters of geology - paleontology at the Free University of Berlin . After graduating , he moved to Johannesburg in 1990 to do research as a doctoral candidate in the Limpopo Belt at the Randse Afrikaans Universiteit .

At the end of 1990 he showed his photos of the Berlin Wall in a large solo exhibition in the Market Gallery in Johannesburg and began working as a press photographer for Johannesburg's The Star . With photos of the South African flugelhorn player Hugh Masekela he succeeded in the first photo publication with attribution.

In 1995 he returned to Berlin and was given the opportunity to learn the craft of a cameraman for electronic reporting as part of an internship at the private broadcaster Puls TV . During this time he began producing the multimedia CD-ROM Berliner Mauermalerei , which was published in 1999. In cooperation with the Werkstatt der Kulturen he showed his photo exhibition Namibia turns 14 in 2004 .

While working as a cameraman for webfree.tv, he met Chandra Fleig , with whom he founded the Free Documentary Team and made the documentary prisoner 382 . After showing in the former Stasi special prison in Bautzen II of the Bautzen prison and the Moritzplatz Magdeburg memorial , the film was sold to the BBC-London British Broadcasting Corporation in 2011 .

In autumn 2004, at the invitation of the German Embassy in Windhoek , Namibia, he showed his photo exhibition "Berlin Wall Art" in the Katutura Community Center (KACA). In 2007 he published his non-fiction book Verboten: Berliner Mauerkunst .

At the same time, he worked as a content producer and editor in charge of the Berliner-Mauer.tv website, on which he publishes documents, articles, photos, videos and interviews with contemporary witnesses. In 2013 he supported the Berlin cameraman, museum founder and art dealer Herbert Ernst in researching his book Herbert Ernst - A Life in Berlin . At the beginning of 2014 he began working on a photo book about the documentary and artistic 16 and 35 mm film work by Herbert Ernst from 1961 to the end of 1962.
