Ralf Haber (born August 18, 1962 in Altenburg ) is a German athlete and Olympic participant who - starting for the GDR - was one of the world's best hammer throwers in the 1980s . His greatest success is the bronze medal at the 1987 World Championships .

Life

He reached fourth place at the Junior European Championships in 1981. In 1983 he started at the World Championships , but retired in qualifying without a valid attempt. At the European Championships in 1986 he came in sixth place (78.74 m) in Stuttgart.

1987 was his most successful year. At the World Championships in Rome he won bronze (invalid - 77.92 - 78.94 - 79.18 - 80.76 m - 78.78). In addition, Haber came second at the European Cup in Prague.
