Ralf Kohl

Ralf Kohl (born October 28, 1965 in Weinheim ) is a former German soccer player .

Kohl came to the second division club SC Freiburg in 1991 via FC Ober-Abtsteinach , Amicitia Viernheim and FV Weinheim . Initially employed as a defender, he rose to the 1st Bundesliga with SCF in 1993 as a champion of the 2nd Bundesliga . In the promotion season he was one of the top performers of the Breisgauer with 36 appearances, this also continued in the Bundesliga, where he was mainly used in defensive midfield. With the 3rd place in the season 94/95 the "Chancellor", as he was called due to his surname in reference to the then Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl , celebrated his greatest success, but experienced the relegation of Freiburg two years later as a supplementary player With. One class lower, he was back in the regular squad in the season 97/98 and rose for the second time after 1993 with SC Freiburg. In 2001 he ended his professional career at SC Freiburg after 147 Bundesliga games (12 goals) and 86 second division appearances (3 goals).

Ralf Kohl is assistant trainer of the A youth of SV Opfingen and runs a sporting goods store in Freiburg.
