Ralf Kuhtz

Ralf Kuhtz (born May 24, 1960 ) is a former German basketball player . The 2.05-meter-tall wing and inside player played 26 international A matches for the German national team .

Player career

Kuhtz, known in basketball circles by the nickname “Kees”, was the best thrower of the German team at the 1977 European Cadet Championships in France with a point average of 13.4 per encounter. He played from 1978 to 1983 and from 1984 to 1987 for SSV Hagen in the basketball league . In the game year 1988/89 he was in the service of TSV Hagen 1860 and 1990/91 by Brandt Hagen (also each in the first division). He later played for SVD 49 Dortmund , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1994 . During his career, Kuhtz scored a total of 2299 points in the basketball league.

He made his debut in the German senior team in April 1982 in a friendly against Turkey. By the spring of 1983 he played 26 international matches for the selection of the German Basketball Federation .

After the end of his competitive sports career, Kuhtz remained loyal to basketball as a coach at the Basketball Boele-Kabel association and as a member of old men’s teams.
