Surrounding villages are Groß Ziescht, already in the district of Teltow-Fläming , in the north, the Golßen district of Mahlsdorf in the northeast, Sellendorf in the east, Schöneiche in the southeast, Görsdorf in the district of Teltow-Fläming in the south, Glienig in the southwest and Damsdorf in the west .

history
Schenkendorf was mentioned in a document in 1346 as "Schenckendorf". The place was apparently founded by a member of the noble family Schenken von Landsberg and Teupitz , but this cannot be documented. The village has a village church. This was built in the 15th century as a boulder building and renovated in 1983.
After the agreements of the Congress of Vienna , Schenkendorf came to the Kingdom of Prussia in 1815 and was located in the district of Luckau in the administrative district of Frankfurt . On July 25, 1952, the community was assigned to the newly formed Luckau district in the Cottbus district . On October 1, 1972, it was incorporated into Glienig . After the reunification , the village was initially in the Luckau district in Brandenburg and was assigned to the newly formed Dahme-Spreewald district after the Brandenburg district reform of December 6, 1993 . On December 31, 2002, Glienig was merged with Sellendorf to form the municipality of Steinreich and Schenkendorf was downgraded to a part of the municipality.
On August 30, 1992, Glienig and Schenkendorf became part of the Golßener Land office. This merged on January 1, 2013 with the Unterspreewald office . As a result, the Golßener Land office was dissolved and the villages were reclassified into the newly formed Unterspreewald office .
