Ralf Lunau

Ralf Lunau (* 1965 ) is a German lawyer and local politician . From 2008 to 2015 he was the cultural mayor of the Saxon state capital Dresden .

Life

Lunau attended school in Dresden from 1972 to 1983 and after three years of military service in the air force of the National People's Army began studying law in Jena . After the first state examination in 1992, he began a legal clerkship at the Dresden Regional Court . In 1999 he opened his law firm in the Outer Neustadt . Before he became mayor of culture in 2008, he was a non-party member of the PDS on the city ​​council . After the end of his work as Mayor of Culture in 2015, he received a visiting professorship at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin . He has been a professor at Meißen University since 2019 .

An investigation by the public prosecutor's office against Lunau on suspicion of tax evasion was closed on June 17, 2016, as Lunau was innocent in the matter.
