Ralf Schwarzer

Ralf Schwarzer (* 1943 in Mittweida ) is a German psychologist and professor of psychology . Schwarzer researches health behavior and self-efficacy expectations in the field of health psychology .

Life

Schwarzer began studying educational science and graduated in 1972 with a diploma (at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel ). His Ph.D. In 1973 he also studied education and Kiel, where he received a further diploma in psychology in 1974. From 1982 to 2011 he was Professor of Psychology at the Free University of Berlin . He is currently professor at the Institute for Positive Psychology at the Australian Catholic University and on the campus of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Wroclaw .

In the course of his career he has received the John F. Diefenbaker Award (1996), the German Psychology Prize (2007) and the Award for Distinguished Scientific Contributions of the International Association of Applied Psychology (2010).
