Ralf Stöhr

Ralf Stöhr (* 1929 in Plauen ; † 1995 in Dresden ) was a German chemist .

Life

Stöhr studied chemistry from 1948 to 1950 at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig and from 1950 to 1953 at the Technical University of Dresden . He then worked as a chemist in the state-owned company (VEB) Asbestwerke Dresden and became an officer (most recently Colonel of the Reserve) of the National People's Army in the chemical service. In 1964 Stöhr received his doctorate (then Doctorate A ); 1970 followed the doctorate B and additional studies in the Soviet Union. Stöhr became head of the chair at the military academy "Friedrich Engels" and since 1980 deputy director of the research center for chemical toxicology of the Academy of Sciences (AdW) of the GDR in Leipzig.

In 1971 he received the Friedrich Engels Prize .

He was an honorary member of the advisory board for a comprehensive ban on chemical weapons at the GDR Peace Council and a member of the military policy section of the Society for the Dissemination of Scientific Knowledge (Urania).
