Ralf de Jong

Ralf de Jong (* 1973 ) is a German graphic artist and typographer .

De Jong studied at the Kunsthochschule Kassel and Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague and founded the Forssman de Jong design office together with Friedrich Forssmann in 2001 , which he left in 2004 to become professor of graphic design and lettering and character development at the To accept the Saar College of Fine Arts . In 2006 he then switched to the professorship for typography at the Folkwang University in Essen.

In addition to his university activities, he has been running the dejong typography design office together with Stephanie de Jong since 2004. De Jong works for museums, exhibitions, publishers, magazines and hotels in the areas of corporate design, exhibition typography and book design.

Together with Friedrich Forssmann he wrote the reference work Detailed Typography , published by Verlag Hermann Schmidt in 2002, and with Stephanie de Jong he published Correspondence in 2008 with the same publisher . Seeing, understanding, choosing and conveying writing , both standard works in the field of typography.

Ralf de Jong is married to Stephanie geb. Keyl and has four children.
