Ralph Müller-Beck (born August 31, 1969 in Elmshorn ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and independent political and economic consultant.

Life

After attending school, Ralph Müller-Beck completed an apprenticeship as an administrative clerk at the Pinneberg district from 1987 to 1990 . After the accession of the new federal states to the federal territory, he was released from December 1990 for the establishment of the public services, transport and traffic union (ÖTV) in the accession area and was a trainee for training as a union secretary until 1992. After his community service, he worked as a union secretary in Kiel from 1994 to 2002 and since 2000 deputy managing director of ÖTV in Kiel. From 2002 to 2005 he headed the youth development and youth department of the northern district of the newly founded ver.di union . In 2005 he moved to the DGB as regional managing director.

Müller-Beck belongs to the SPD . From 2008 to 2012 he represented his party in the council of the city of Kiel , temporarily as parliamentary group chairman.

Müller-Beck was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Schleswig-Holstein in 2012. Müller-Beck was responsible for the labor market, European social fund, tourism and technology promotion areas. In 2014 he moved to the Ministry of the Interior and Federal Affairs as State Secretary. At the same time he was given the position of authorized representative of the state of Schleswig-Holstein at the federal government in Berlin. He thus represented the interests of the state in Berlin and coordinated a. a. the participation of the state in the Federal Council . During the refugee crisis in 2015/2016, Müller-Beck coordinated medical care and the registration of refugees in Schleswig-Holstein and was a member of the federal interior minister's nationwide coordination staff.

After the end of the legislative period, Müller-Beck became self-employed as a political and economic advisor. Müller-Beck is involved in the management group of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and is a member of the economic forum of the SPD. Müller-Beck maintains political and economic contacts in particular to Israel and China. As a member of the Jerusalem Foundation Germany, he supports the organization's activities to improve the coexistence of all population groups in Jerusalem. He is also the spokesman for the project company Kap Horn, which is building a hotel in the Gaarden -Ost district of Kiel under the title KoolKiel with an investment sum in the three-digit million range.

Müller-Beck is married and has two children.
