Ralph Manno

Ralph Manno (* 1964 in Brühl ) is a clarinetist in the classical music scene.

He was supported by the German National Academic Foundation and the Herbert von Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic . At the age of 23, Ralph Manno was solo clarinetist at WDR Cologne. Two years later Sergiu Celibidache brought him to the Munich Philharmonic .

In 1993, at the age of 29, Ralph Manno was appointed professor at the University of Music in Cologne . He gives master classes in the USA, Japan, South America, Australia and Europe. As a soloist and as a chamber musician, he is a sought-after guest on all major concert platforms and festivals around the world.

Ralph Manno is strongly committed to contemporary music. He made music with Pierre Boulez , Luciano Berio and Krzysztof Penderecki and inspired many composers to new compositions for clarinet. He is the artistic director of the international music festival Konturen and curator of various chamber music concert series in Germany.
