Ralph Tarraf

Ralph Tarraf (* 1963 ) is a German diplomat . From 2011 to 2015 he was the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Jordan .

career

Tarraf joined the Foreign Service after studying sociology at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and worked in the Political Department of the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York City before becoming permanent representative of the Ambassador to Sudan . Later he worked, among other things, in the office of the head of the Federal Chancellery , where he dealt with questions about parental allowance as well as in the workforce for human rights of the Federal Foreign Office .

He then became deputy head of the planning team at the Foreign Office in Berlin . In this role he was also a participant in the Bergedorf Round Table of the Körber Foundation . In 2010 he was then Head of Division for the Middle East (Division 301) in the Foreign Office.

From 2011 to 2015, Ralph Tarraf was the successor to Joachim Heidorn as Ambassador to Jordan . Since 2015 he has been Head of the EU Delegation for the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
