Ralph Zloczower

Ralph Max Zloczower (born February 21, 1933 in Bern ) is a former central president of the Swiss Football Association .

Career

Zloczower studied law in Bern and Heidelberg . In 1961, at the age of 27, he opened a law firm in Bern. He was President of the Bernese FDP and until 1993 President of the City Association.

In the 1970s, Zloczower was President of the Swiss Curling Association before becoming a football official in 1973. He was President of BSC Young Boys and held several positions in the Swiss Football Association before he was elected President of SFV on February 10, 2001, succeeding Marcel Mathier . From December 2004 to December 2006 he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Euro 2008 SA , the organization company for the next European Football Championship, and from January 2007 a member of the Board of Directors. He was also a member of the UEFA professional football and national team committees. In 2009 the former general secretary Peter Gilliéron became the new SFV central president, Ralph Zlocwower was appointed honorary president.

Zloczower has two sons.

As a lawyer he represented a. a. the arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi arrested in Bern in 1989 , the armaments giant Thomson (now Thales Group ), the Mossad agent Isaac Bental (1998), the Israeli embassy in Switzerland and one of the occupants of the Polish embassy in Bern (1982 ).
