Ralph Barendse (* 6. April 1977 ) is a Dutch Trance - DJ and music producer from Zwijndrecht . He is best known by the pseudonyms Ralphie B and Midway .

biography

Ralph Barendse released his first production in 1999 under the pseudonym Alpha Breed . His breakthrough came in 2001 with the song Massive , which attracted the attention of Tiësto and was subsequently released on In Trance We Trust , a sub-label of Black Hole Recordings . The single became a huge hit and is now considered a trance classic. In the third episode of Armin van Buuren's radio show A State of Trance , Massive was also voted Tune of the Week .

In 2002 Barendse started a new project called Midway . The first single Monkey Forest was again very successful. A few more songs and remixes by trance artists like Dario G , Misja Helsloot and Solarstone followed .

In 2005 Ralph Barendse founded the First State project together with Sander van Dien and released a single of the same name on In Trance We Trust . She received a lot of support from Tiësto and eventually became a great success. As a result, the duo moved into a joint studio in Dordrecht and produced other songs under the name First State and accompanied Tiësto on his tour as a supporting act. In June 2006 her album Time Frame was released by Black Hole Recordings.

In May 2009 Barendse decided to leave the First State project and concentrate on his solo career. In the same year he released another single called What If under the name Midway and in 2010 his debut album Equator followed .
