The deep sea tug ( Remolcador de Alta Mar , short RAM) Poderoso was launched on May 27, 1911 by the shipyard H. & C. Grayson in Garston near Liverpool as hull number 69 and in July 1911 it was transferred to Valparaíso , where it was used for a long time largest and most modern tug in Chile was used in port operations. After 77 years of service, it was retired in 1988 and listed as a historical monument in 1990 . In 1994 the ship was brought to the Talcahuano customs port as a museum ship.

As a result of the tsunami following the earthquake in Chile in 2010 , the ship capsized in the port and has not been raised since then. The state of preservation is now critical.
