The Ramal de Reguengos (also Linha do Guadiana ) was a railway line in Portugal that connected the district capital Évora with Reguengos de Monsaraz , in the Alentejo .
history
The railway connection known today as Ramal de Reguengos is in fact a waste product of a never completed railway project in Portugal. The project became known as Linha do Guadiana in Portugal. This involved a direct rail link between Lisbon and Seville , via Évora and Zafra, with the option of connecting the Ramal de Moura , a route that is now closed and that came from the south of Beja . On April 6, 1927, the rail connection to Reguengos was completed, but never continued as planned. The Ramal de Reguengos has been closed since 1988.
