Ramas Uruschadze

Ramas Pavlovich Uruschadze ( Russian Рамаз Павлович Урушадзе , Georgian : რამაზ ურუშაძე, born August 17, 1939 in Batumi , Georgian SSR ; † March 7, 2012 ) was a Soviet - Georgian football player .

Athletic career

Uruschadze played for Dinamo Tiflis until 1960 , then the goalkeeper ran for Torpedo Kutaisi . After his return to Dinamo Tbilisi in 1965, he was active until 1971.

From October 1963 Urushadze was a national player in the national team of the USSR : After his debut against Italy in the first leg of the first leg of the 1964 European Championship , he was also part of the squad the following year as a substitute for Lev Yashin , but he could not get past the competitor and only played two international matches . After the 1: 2 defeat in the final against Spain , he was runner-up in Europe. Shortly before, he had failed as a goalkeeper with the Olympic team at the GDR selection team representing Germany , when the teams had two 1-1 draws and the East German team won a 4 in a play-off in which Uruschadze was not between the posts : 1 success prevailed.

Uruschadse's son Sasa Uruschadse , who died in 2019, was successful as a director and screenwriter.
