The Rammsee is a small lake in Schleswig-Holstein and is located south of the city of Kiel in the municipality of Molfsee .
A district of this municipality was named after the lake, even if the lake borders the Molfsee-Dorf district about a kilometer away.
The lake was created at the end of the last Ice Age, the Vistula Ice Age, and at that time formed a unit with the nearby Molfsee. Through a natural silting process , the Rammsee was separated from the Molfsee over time.
There is a bathing area on the south side of the lake.
Another lake of the same name is located about 32 km northwest of the lake treated here in the municipality of Brekendorf .
