Ramfis libanoticus is a butterfly ( moth ) from the family of cosmopterigidae (Cosmopterigidae).

features

The moths reach a wingspan of 9 to 11 millimeters. The species resembles Ramphis ibericus , but the thorax is drawn with a narrow white line and the tegulae have a white border at the back. The first costal line is less oblique on the forewings. The white basal line is missing on the inner edge of the wing and the raised spots are pale gold.

The genital fittings of the males are similar to that of Ramphis ibericus . The valves are wider and as long as the Aedeagus . The right valvella is less than half the length of the distal part of the aedeagus. It runs to a point.

The genital fittings of the females are similar to that of Rahmphis ibericus . The ridges of the ante-vaginal plate are more prominent under shorter. The rear edge of the 7th sternite is indented in a V-shape, the sclerotization is triangular and even. There are two cup-shaped signs.

distribution

Ramphis libanoticus is widespread on the islands of the eastern Mediterranean ( Rhodes , Cyprus ), in Asia Minor and in the Middle East .

biology

The caterpillars develop on Salvia triloba and mine in the leaves. Butterflies were collected from May to July and October.
