The Ottenby Nature Reserve is a nature reserve on the Swedish island of Öland in the Baltic Sea . The area is designated as a Natura 2000 area .

The nature reserve is located south of the village of Ottenby and covers the entire southern tip of the island with an area of 1026 hectares, of which around 95 hectares consist of water. It is particularly known as a resting place for many migratory birds . In addition to a bird museum, there is a bird observatory , one of the most famous in Sweden and in the well-known ornithologists as Lars Svensson worked, who worked here from 1961 to 1965. The museum and control room are located near the Långe Jan lighthouse . There are also extensive lake meadows here .

The landscape of the west and south of the nature reserve is characterized by an Alvar landscape. In the east there is a forest area with Ottenbylund . With the Kungsstenarna grave complex, there are also testimonies of prehistoric cultural history.
