Randie Delmont Carver (born December 3, 1974 in Kansas City , Missouri , † September 14, 1999 there ) was an American professional boxer .

Career

Randie Carver won as an amateur, among other things, the silver medal at the Golden Gloves 1992 in the welterweight and the gold medal at the Golden Gloves 1993 in the light middleweight. In 1996 he made his debut as a professional and remained undefeated in 24 fights. He won the NABF super middleweight title against former IBF World Championships challenger William Bo James in May 1999 .

In his first title defense in September 1999, he was seriously injured in the head in an unclean fight against Kabary Salem , suffered a knockdown in the tenth round and then collapsed in the ring. He died two days later from complications from his head injuries at North Kansas City Hospital.
