The Random House Tower is a 200-foot-tall skyscraper in New York City . Completed in 2003, the 52-story building is located on 56th Street on Broadway in Manhattan . The skyscraper is used as a hotel, office, viewing platform and for telecommunications. The Random House Tower is also the headquarters of the Random House publishing house and, since 2016, the Penguin Random House publishing group . The building ranks 59th among the tallest buildings in New York City (as of 2016).
The plans were drawn up by architects Skidmore, Owings and Merrill . Work on the Random House Tower began in early 2000 and cost $ 300 million. The building was completed in the summer of 2003 and officially opened in the winter of the same year.
The floors 48 to 52 are for residential purposes. The first residents of the apartments include P. Diddy and New York Yankees Captain Randy Johnson .
