Randy Culpepper (born May 16, 1989 in Memphis , Tennessee ) is an American basketball player . He currently plays in the position of playmaker at Pallacanestro Cantù in Italy .

Career

college

After attending high school in his hometown, Johnson joined the UTEP Miners at the University of Texas at El Paso . There he was voted Conference USA Men's Basketball Player of the Year in 2010. With 45 points in the game against West Carolina, he set a point record in the league.

professional

After Culpepper was not selected in the 2011 NBA draft, he signed a contract with BK Ferro-SNTU in the Ukrainian basketball super league Ukraine . He reached the Ukrainian cup final in 2012 and became the Ukrainian cup winner in 2013. For the 2012/13 season he moved to the newcomer of the VTB United League Krasny Oktyabr . In his first game for Oktjabr he set a new point record for the VTB United League with 41 points. In his first VTB-UL season, he was voted MVP of the match day twice. In March 2014 he moved to Sagesse Beirut in Lebanon . From there he returned to Krasny Oktyabr in November 2014. He then played in France ( Limoges ), Turkey ( Beşiktaş Istanbul , Balıkesir) and Italy ( Cantù ).
