The Raney Peak is a symmetrical and 2050 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises between the Rim Glacier and the Sprocket Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 2007 after the physicist Michele Eileen Raney (* 1951), who was the first woman to winter in an Antarctic inland station at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in 1979 .
