Ranissimo was the Sunday edition of the soccer program ran on Sat.1 from 1992 to 1999 .

The name of the show is related to the Italian language , since at the beginning of the 1990s some of the best-known German national players and world champions from 1990 were under contract in Serie A (for example Andreas Möller , Jürgen Klinsmann , Thomas Häßler ) and the league games there were therefore particularly special were interesting for the German audience. In addition to a summary of the Sunday game of the Bundesliga, reporting on the Italian games was a central point of the program, which was discontinued over the years when hardly any German players were active there.

The program ran on Sundays from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. and was moderated by Reinhold Beckmann , Jörg Wontorra and Johannes B. Kerner . Usually a Bundesliga coach or Bundesliga player was invited as a studio guest.

With the program restructuring for the 1999/2000 season , the name ranissimo was abolished. The start of the program was brought forward to 6:45 p.m. and the Sunday edition was just like the Saturday edition simply ran .
