De Ranitz

De Ranitz is the name of an originally Saxon family of lower nobility, which settled in the Netherlands in the 17th century.

Lineage and ennoblement in the Netherlands

The main line begins with Johann Sigismund Ranisch (* 1646/1647 in Dresden ), who was Rittmeister in the service of the States General . The children of Herman de Ranitz (1794–1846), Sebastiaan Mattheus Sigismund and Samuel de Ranitz, were introduced to the Dutch nobility in 1906 with the Jonkheer title . Her brother Johan Hendrik de Ranitz was introduced in 1908; their nephew Cornelis de Ranitz (1801-1860) finally in 1935.
