Ranji Trophy 2017/18
The Ranji Trophy 2017/18 was the 83rd season of the national first-class cricket competition in India and was held from October 6, 2017 to January 1, 2018. The winner was Vidarbha , who beat Delhi in the final with 9 wickets .
format
The teams played in four groups once against each other team in their group. The grouping is based on the average number of points over the past three years. A team received 6 points for a win and 3 points for a draw (both teams achieve the same number of runs ). If no result is achieved and the game ends in a draw, the results after the first innings count . There are three points for a win and one point for a tie or a loss. A bonus point is awarded for wins with one innings or with a lead of 10 wickets. The first three teams from groups A and B qualify for the quarter-finals, and the best two teams from group C. From there, the winner of the Ranji Trophy is played out in neutral stadiums in the knockout system.

Irani Cup 2017/18
In mid-March 2018, the Irani Cup between the Ranji Trophy winner, Vidarbha , and the Rest of India selection also took place. Vidarbha won on the result in the first innings.
