Raoul Lévy
Raoul J. Lévy (born April 14, 1922 in Antwerp , † December 31, 1966 in St. Tropez ) was a Belgian-French film producer and film director.
Life
After the occupation of Belgium by German troops, Raoul J. Lévy fled to Great Britain and did military service in the Royal Air Force . After the war he became a production assistant at RKO . In 1950 he managed to set up his own small film production company. He was also able to achieve international success by working with director Roger Vadim , especially with films that made Brigitte Bardot a star. Lévy also worked as a screenwriter and director. His business decline started with the project for a film about Marco Polo's travels . In the kingdom of Kublai Khan did not achieve the financial results that Lévy expected. On New Year's Eve 1966 he put an end to his life in St. Tropez.
