Raphaël Nguyễn Văn Diệp
Raphaël Nguyễn Văn Diệp (born October 20, 1926 in Long Thôi, Vietnam ; † December 20, 2007 ) was a Roman Catholic coadjutor of the Vietnamese diocese of Vĩnh Long . His name combines western naming tradition ( Raphaël as first name before the family name Nguyễn ) with Vietnamese ( Văn Diệp as a personal name is behind the family name).
Life
Nguyen Van Diep was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Vĩnh Long on December 7, 1954 . In 1975 Pope Paul VI appointed him . the titular bishop of Tubusuptu and ordered him to Coadjutor Bishop in the Diocese of Vinh Long. He was ordained bishop on August 15, 1975 by Jacques Nguyên Van Mâu , Bishop of Vinh Long, as well as Emmanuel Lê Phong Thuân , Bishop of Cân Tho, and André Nguyên Van Nam , Bishop of My Tho.
In 2000, Pope John Paul II granted his age-related resignation ; he was succeeded by Thomas Nguyên Van Tan .
