Raphael Tigges

Raphael Tigges (born May 26, 1973 in Gütersloh ) is a German CDU politician and has been a directly elected member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament for the municipalities of Gütersloh, Herzebrock-Clarholz and Harsewinkel since the election in May 2017 .

education and profession

Tigges graduated from school in 1991 and then completed an apprenticeship as a banker at Sparkasse Gütersloh and also acquired the technical college entrance qualification. This was followed by studying to become a savings bank economist. Before being elected to the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, Tigges worked as a corporate customer advisor at Sparkasse Gütersloh.

Politics and party

Between 1996 and 2000 Tigges was chairman of the Junge Union (JU) Avenwedde , and then between 2000 and 2002 of the JU-Stadtverband Gütersloh. Between 2002 and 2008 he was chairman of the CDU Avenwedde-Friedrichsdorf. Since 2004 he has been a member of the council in his hometown of Gütersloh. In addition, he has been chairman of the CDU city association since 2008 and deputy chairman of the CDU city council group since 2014.

Tigges has been chairman of the CDU district association in the Gütersloh district since March 2019.

Tigges ran for the first time in the state election on May 14, 2017 and was directly elected to the state parliament with 42.1 percent.
