Raphael de Sousa (born March 5, 1993 in Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourg football player .

Career

In the summer of 2012, de Sousa moved from the U-19 of FC Metz to Alemannia Aachen . From 2012 to 2014 he played 41 games in the Middle Rhine League , for the second team of Alemannia. He was a few times in the first team squad, but never got a train.

In 2014 he left Aachen and moved to his home country for the F91 Dudelange. In the top division in Luxembourg, the BGL Ligue , he made his debut August 17, 2014. In the 0-0 win against US Bad Mondorf , he came onto the field for the last two minutes. In his second season he was able to win the Luxembourg championship with Dudelange , but was awarded to FC Victoria Rosport after only one use in the first half of the winter break . Here he stayed for a total of one and a half seasons.

For the 2017/18 season De Sousa moved to Jeunesse Esch and only one year later to league rivals RM Hamm Benfica . After Hamm's relegation from the BGL Ligue , he moved on to Etzella Ettelbrück in summer 2019 . Here he won the national league cup in his first competitive game with a 2-0 win against his ex-club F91 Dudelange .

National team

Between 2008 and 2013, de Sousa played 22 games for the Luxembourg national teams. In addition to friendly matches, he also played in qualifying for the 2013 U-21 European Football Championship .

His older brother Christophe de Sousa (* 1992) is also a soccer player. He is currently under contract with US Bad Mondorf .
