The Rare Range is a rugged mountain range in the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It lies between the Wetmore Glacier and the Irvine Glacier .

He was discovered and photographed from the air during the R onne A ntarctic R esearch E xpedition (1947–1948) under the direction of the US polar explorer Finn Ronne . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after the acronym for the expedition (RARE) in memory of its contribution to expanding knowledge about the Palmerland.
