Rass special sports shoes (also Rass sports shoes ) is a German company from Schönheide .

history

The company was founded in 1963 and is now run by the fourth generation of the family. Right from the start, Rass Sportschuhe specialized in shoes for summer and winter sports enthusiasts. In addition to special boots are sports shoes for leisure, football , indoor and Ringer sports and dance shoes , Guard boots and individual custom-made manufactured. Large manufacturers such as Puma and Adidas also have shoes produced by Rass. Rass produces the Copa Mundial soccer shoe for Adidas .

In 1975 the company manufactured the world's first ski jumping boot with a calf spoiler and is still providing a large number of ski jumpers and Nordic combined athletes in the World Cup, including Gregor Schlierenzauer and Björn Kircheisen, with shoes.

Up until 1989, Rass was the official Olympic outfitter of the German Democratic Republic team four times .

In 1992 Rass developed the world's first binding system for jumping boots together with the binding manufacturer Silvretta-Sherpas and Adidas in Herzogenaurach . The current owner of the company, Tom Rass, was active as a ski jumper for a long time and is also a trained orthopedic master .

In 2007, Rass achieved sales in the higher single-digit million range.
