Town Hall (Waldkirch)
The town hall in Waldkirch , a large district town in the Emmendingen district in Baden-Württemberg , was originally built in 1562/63 and rebuilt in 1653/54 after the town fire on July 28, 1638. The town hall at Marktplatz 1 is a protected cultural monument .
In the second half of the 18th century, richly decorated window frames were installed on the ground floor: two double windows facing the market square, a four-part window group on the gable side and two individual openings on the rear eaves. At the same time, an eaves-side portal and two corner pulpits were created on the upper floor.
From 2014 to 2016 the building was extensively renovated and the existing structure was scientifically examined. The NS murals by the artist Schroeder-Schoenenberg were also covered over.
