Town hall Hemer

The Town Hall Hemer since the late 1970s, the seat of the city government of Hemer ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ). The building is located in the city center within a pedestrian zone and is one of the tallest buildings in the city center alongside the Christ the King Church .

In 1975 construction began based on a design by Bernhard Kleine-Fraun . Two years later the administration started its work at the new location, the old office building continued to be used as a music school.

Today the following offices and departments are located in the Hemeraner town hall: Office for administrative service; Office for Council Affairs and Organization; Public order office ; Office for Local Finances; Urban drainage; Central real estate management; Society for Economic Development ; Office for Education, Culture, Sport and Social Affairs; Environmental agency; Office for Planning, Building, Transport . It is also the seat of the mayor , the equal opportunities officer and the departments . The citizens' office is on the ground floor .

The building is popularly referred to as the monkey rock because of its shape and function .
