Town hall Naumburg (Saale)
The town hall on the market square in Naumburg , a town in the south of Saxony-Anhalt and the administrative seat of the Burgenland district , is a protected architectural monument .
History and description
The town hall was originally built at the end of the 15th century. After the city fire of 1517, the building was rebuilt by 1528. Renovations took place between 1608 and 1612 and 1919/20. In the years 1556/57 a spiral staircase was installed between the first and second floor. The Renaissance - Portal received the still standing today door leaf. In 1853 the large council chamber was built on the first floor.
The town hall is home to the Ratskeller, the oldest restaurant in town. There are also two halls available for festive occasions.
