History and architecture

Reconstruction plan from 1900

The previous building from 1671 burned down, so a new building was erected from 1672 to 1673. This building fell into disrepair at the beginning of the 19th century and was rebuilt again in 1805. An extension took place in 1900. From 1998 to 1999 it was extensively renovated according to old findings.

The two-storey town hall stands on the market square in the center of the city, next to the Nikolaikirche . The rectangular plastered building has seven axes. The three-storey central risalit is crowned by a triangular gable. The lintels and the capitals are darkened. The old espagnolette locks (espagnolette locks) on the inside of the windows are remarkable.
