Ratter is an American horror film released in 2015 . The film is based on a short film called Webcam , which was also written by director Branden Kramer .
The film premiered on January 24, 2015 at the Slamdance Film Festival, and was released in Germany on March 17, 2016.

Emma is an attractive, young student who has just moved to New York from the Midwest and is looking forward to her time alone in the big city. She soon met the charming Michael, with whom she got along very well - much to the displeasure of her ex-boyfriend Alex. While she grapples with her everyday problems, she is initially unaware that she is being watched every step of the way: a stalker has hacked into all of her technical devices and eventually goes so far in his obsession that he films and records her most intimate moments . But at some point it is no longer enough for him to just observe them and the situation escalates.

The film service ruled that the film was a "slowly developed thriller", staged throughout "from the perspective of computer-controlled cameras". The "criticism of ubiquitous surveillance technology" is "vague" and disappears completely in the "standardized finale".
