history

The team was founded by the entrepreneur Friedrich Lukacek . Lukacek (* 1929) came to Germany from Czechoslovakia in 1946 . Lukacek was active as a professional driver from 1955 to 1958 .

In 1979 he was able to win over the Italian wheel manufacturers Raul and Raimondo Gozzi, who had founded the Rauler brand, to give him the general agency for their wheels in Germany. The Rauler racing bikes were assembled in his company and also tailored to individual requirements. In the same year, with the support of Rauler, he began to build a professional team, for which he received a license in 1980.

Lukacek was based in Schwäbisch Gmünd . Originally he wanted to found a team with mostly German neoprofis who came from the amateurs . He did not succeed in this for various reasons. His first team consisted of ten drivers from different nations such as the Netherlands , Luxembourg , Austria and Germany. He was able to sign Erwin Gaede and Klaus Thurn from the amateur camp , while other German drivers switched from the Kondor team (like the Bohnen brothers) to Rauler. Although the team could not show any victories in 1980, the sponsors extended the contract for the 1981 season. Especially about Stefan Schröpfer's two-year contract , there were ongoing disputes, including with the Association of German Cyclists (BDR), until it finally came to competitor Kotter's Racing Team changed. In 1981 the team consisted of drivers from Germany, Switzerland , Norway , the Netherlands, Denmark and Rwanda . The team started at the Tour de Suisse , the Tour of Germany and some monuments of cycling .

successes

The Dutchman Wim Maessen ensured the best placements . He came  third in the 1980 victory of Joop Zoetemelk in the Grand Prix Pino Cerami and was able to place in several classic races.
