history

With Kotter's Racing Team, Konrad Kotter founded a new cycling team and continued his involvement in cycling after having founded the Kondor team two years earlier , which was dissolved at the end of 1980.
It was founded and essentially financed by entrepreneur Konrad Kotter from Schechingen in Württemberg . His company produced tubes, frames for racing bikes and complete bikes under the name Albuch Kotter . He had previously sold Italian frames and complete bikes in Germany under the name Kondor. After Kondor went bankrupt, the company passed into other hands (Albuch Fahrradfabrik GmbH in Böhmenkirch ).

Kotter's goal when founding the team was to make Dietrich Thurau a team that should start in the Tour de France in 1983 at the latest . But especially with Thurau he experienced some disappointments, whose contract was terminated prematurely. In 1982 the team competed in all the monuments of cycling except for the Milan – San Remo race .

At the end of 1982 Kotter had largely disbanded the team due to lack of success. From 1983 there was no real team structure and only a few individual drivers were sponsored. Kotter remained a sponsor of the remaining drivers until 1987, after which the sponsorship was continued by the Albuch Kotter company until 1991, whereby it was only about individual drivers and guest drivers. The last drivers who drove for Kotter's - Albuch were Martin Penc and Teodor Cerny .
